I was supposed to be there!

Sunday, December 14, 2008
It's one of those things... I'm going to regret for a VERY VERY long time... I'm supposed to be going to the game on the 17th of December in Vancouver, its not just any game its a VERY big game... They're retiring Trevor Linden's number, no Canuck will ever again wear number 16. I was offered the ticket to go only needing to cover a flight and hotel or other minor expenses in Van, but I said no.............
I'm going to regret it I just know it.

Anyways life has been CRAZY busy lately I've been working SO much and Deejay on the side, well it was supposed to be on the side but its every weekend and well 3 nights straight this weekend. I'm exhausted literally I had about 11 hours sleep in 3 days. Today I was wiped I slept till 12:15 and could've easily slept longer but my wife woke me up. We went for lunch with Matt and Carin and a bunch of others! Wanted to say bye to Matt before he left.

Christmas time is upon us and all my intentions of getting my shopping done early are shot, I haven't had a spare min to do anything lately, so I'll get to it when I get to it I guess... Anyways I gotta go I just got a phone call and need to go deal with a client... so much for sleep. (I'm not complaining, God has chosen to bless me with work so I'm taking it!! I'm just tired haha)

Here's a pic I want to leave you with..Anyone who follows hockey will know why I'm posting this.. but don't misunderstand it, I respect the man, he's a great player but I don't think he'd be a good fit in Van, nor do I think he should be able to play this year. I think guys who drag it out like this should be forced to sit the whole year out. There are TONNES of younger talented guys dying to get a chance to play...

Hey Everyone!!

Tuesday, November 11, 2008
Sorry I haven't been around a lot that has not been my intention.. I've been REALLY busy, working like a dog, spending time with family and watching hockey! Not to complain at all, it's been a HUGE blessing. Having my mom here for a week was nice for all of us, it's always good to see her. We spent WAY to much money as did she I'm sure! But if you only get to see each other once or twice a year, that's what happens I guess. Business has been going really well, Tom and I have been helping out the School board for the last couple weeks, and trying to juggle our normal stuff in between. I've got about 8 gig's coming up with Sight and Sound and that's just whats on paper so far! There's sure to be a new year's gig that will claim a nice bounty as Tony like's to put it. That's all good cause I really need a new laptop for work, mine is dying and it's what I use to DJ with.

Also, the Canucks are doing well. Thanks to Luongo's 3 shutout's and some other players doing their thing. I'd still be benching the Sedin's :P Now that Demitra and Hansen are coming back on the line up (potentially) I REALLY hope AV finds a place on the team for Wellwood, I still can't believe that he didn't make the team from the get go, if you remember my predictions, I said he was a sure fit for the team! Anyways should be a good game on wednesday, playing the Av's one of our bigger rivals!

Normally today I'd be doing a remembrance day post, Be sure to take time to reflect on what was done for us and the freedom's we have because of the sacrifice's of so many!

Thanks for reading guys!

Hello??

Saturday, October 25, 2008
Am I boring you guys with my Hockey stuff :P I haven't seen anyone around for awhile... I'll try to do more personal posts in between. Truth is I've just been uber busy and haven't had much time aside from veg'n to a nucks game and life stuff..

Things are good though, if your still reading thanks drop a line and let me know!

Blessings

Too Little Too Late!

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

I don't even really know what to write about tonight's game... I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come I love this team always have and always will. I'm not one of those Hockey fans that jump ship first sign of trouble, in fact this year is the first year I've EVER and I do mean EVER cheered for two teams and truth is I'm not even really cheering for the other team, I just like Cary Price. Brutal I know I feel like I'm betraying my team, cheating... It's hard... Really hard.

Anyways I'm a die hard Canucks fan I believe in blue!! I hate to see them playing like this because I know they have so much more to offer, they proved that by actually showing up in the 3rd period. Had they played with that intensity throughout the entire 60 minuets of hockey we would have won for sure!

I'm soooo frustrated with how the Sedin's have been playing it's not funny, Matt nailed it for me tongith when he said lazy and comfortable.. That EXACTLY how I feel about them they're making crap plays taking dumb penalties that your "top" forwards shouldn't be taking the 3rd line guys are making them look like rookies... It's brutal, even when they're making the effort to chase the puck and make the plays they're suckin it up. GRRRRR

Kyle Wellwood was one of my picks to stay, he didn't :( But they called him up and he played a great game I thought, he may be a bit out of shape but that will come with time he didn't look to be weezin or draggin but on ANY plays infact he was makin the Sedin's look like they should've been trying for a spot. Wellwood seems to have a knack for being in the right place at the right time "reading the play" makes great passes and can actually put it in the net when given the opportunity.

We need to pick the agressive game back up, the one we played in Calgary and Detriot, more so in Calgary.. Seriously even the 3rd period tonight was good hockey.. I don't know I'm glad there's a couple days off cause I'm frustrated..

GO NUCKS GO!

5-2 Buffalo

Saturday, October 18, 2008
Well what can I say about tonight... Other then the boyz didn't couldn't seem to find their feet. Sanford was in net and imho he did a fantastic job, yes even with a 5-2 loss, I'd say his defense was less then stellar. I don't know, there was some good back and forth action for about 5mins in the second but unfortantely to little to late :(

One thing that choked me and if I was a hockey player I'd be getting suspeneded all the time for beatin up the ref's or I'd at least make sure to clip and envolve them in the hits when smokin others :P They made a WEAK call against burrows even the tv guys were like penalty against buffalo and Burrows ended up getting it plus extra for un-sportsman-like and a 10mins on top of that... GRRRR

Anyways playing the Blackhawks at 4pm on sunday hopefully that will be better.. It's kinda crappy cause normally we spank the east teams and struggle with the west...

Oh well...

GO CANUCKS GO

On a side note I had a VERY lazy day infact I forgot to hang out with a buddy I was so lazy I laid in bed till around 12 went downtown at about 1:30 for some quick work and thought to myself I'm supposed to be doing something else, what the heck is that something else.... checked my calendar and had no idea. Got home and found that my buddy had called so I tried to call back and there was no answer :( sorry bro! next time for sure!!

Look Mom! Two left feet... 4-3 Van

Thursday, October 16, 2008

What a game.. Seriously they played hard skated hard but MAN OH MAN there were a lot of mistakes. Let's pass through guys, let's turn it over as much as we can, let's take some REALLY and I do mean REALLY stupid penalties... Maybe just maybe we could cost ourselves the game..

Henrick, Daniel remember you can't wear your brothers skates.. You have to have a right foot and a left foot not two lefts, not two rights... Your on the #1 line for your team Your an example to the rest of the guys and all I heard ALL night long was Burrows, Kesler and Hansen maybe we should make them our top line? Don't get me wrong I like the twins they can usually read each other really well and make some great plays but tonight................to be honest...........I would've benched them both.

It was definately nice to see double digits on the shot count, even better to see 29 shots throughout the 3.1 periods. Some really nice hits, great hustle and over all aside from the Sedin blunders it was a good game.. I'm still waiting for Demitra to dazzle me but I think the best he did tonight was an assited assit... Infact I don't even really recall hearing his name. There were a couple very nice goals tonight, jaw dropping :) Burrows won the game for us in OT about 27 seconds in Mason Raymond tied it up for us early in the third with a rebound from Big Willie who btw played a strong game tonight! It was Hansens goal that dazzled me, at first I was frustraded with Burrows for a "lazy" shot or rather what looked like a lazy shot but it made for a beaUTIFUL rebound off the back wall and a crAzy goal about 5mins into the first period good way to start things off by opening the scoring for your team! Kesler tipped a nice one in to once again put the Nucks in the lead and ya that's the game right there. "Dat guy" (Burrows) impressed us once again! Lots of grit, determination.. he's going to be a force to reckon with and is only getting better with time!

Anyways it's nice to see the team winning especially after the spanking they recieved from Washington. Speaking of which the Caps and the Pens played tonight and thankfully the Caps won that game too lots of talk about the "Sid Ovechy show" and I just happen to be a bigger fan of Ovechkin the Syd the Kid so I'm glad they won.

GO CANUCKS GO!!

5-1 Washington...

Monday, October 13, 2008

Seriously what more can one say? How embarrassing... They seriously let Washington undress them and spank their butts tonight... I really don't even know what to say other then OUCH..

I had to work :( but :)

Sunday, October 12, 2008
I missed most of the game tonight.. I was Deejay'in a wedding tonight.. The nice thing about doing it for Sight&Sound is that I get to leave while they eat and do the speaches and can come back and do the dance. So I DID get to watch the first period. Calgary looked a lot more determined to win tonight but glad to see that the Nucks pulled through!!! Yay for 2-0-0. Anyways I really wish I got to watch the game but meh.. thems the breaks.

Thanks to my beautiful wife and best friend for texting me the play by plays... Ok well really just the scores and fights :P but still Thanks guys!

I gotta get up early tomorrow so I'm outta here!
Nite

Let me leave you with this pic!
Nice to see Demitra score! even nicer to see someone excited and celebrating when getting a goal :P Big goal to win the game in OT for the nucks!!!

Big First Game!! 6-0

Thursday, October 09, 2008
WOW... Talk about a spanking... 6-0 seriously 6 - notta LOU get's a shutout!!!

I wasn't overly thrilled with the game but the goals were great!! a lot of sloppy passes and ya just over all seemed like a very weird game. They honored Luc Bordon tonight could've played a part in it I guess but I really don't know... I'm UBER tired right now so look for an update tomorrow! Unfortunately I'll be missing Saturday's game, due to a conflicting work schedule.. I really need to try and book work around these games :P

Anyways I'll post my thoughts when I can think straight.

On a side note I bought something today!!! Picture to come soon! :P I'm SOOO Excited

EDIT #1 : Here's my new purchase!!!
EDIT #2:
OK So the game... I already said I wasn't overly impressed with the game I was optimistic at best on the out come, I felt like we would win but it would be a marginal 3-1 with a go ahead goal near the end of the the 3rd, was I ever wrong.. But really how often does Kipper get his butt handed to him? ESPECIALLY back to back? I thought for sure he'd be standing on his head and putting up the great saves.. I did however say to the guys that if IF Van could stick the passing and great plays that they were in the pre-season then it would be good. Anyways the game was frustrating but exciting at the same time. You gotta love watching your team score, I LOVE the fact that guys were excited to score not just meh it's another goal. Actually celebrating and enjoying the game. I agree with TimW and seeing Bernier step it up and getting a goal was exciting. I'm still anticipating what Demitra is going to do, sure he's dazzled us a few times but in the what 6 games I've seen him in I can only count a few and I mean on one hand a few how many times.. maybe he needs to find his groove? maybe it's the "chemistry" I don't know but hopefully he steps it up :P

How about Burrows 2 goals.. I so wanted to see him get a hat trick that would've been great on the night they honored his best friend or "closest team-mate" Luc Bourdon. Still he played a great game even antagonising Bert! haha awesome.. On a side not I have to admit I was pretty disgusted by Canuck fans for "Boo-ing" Bertuzzi, he left for good reasons I think and I really hope he get's his game back... That Steve Moore incident... I don't want to talk about that but to say BULL POOP.. The dog-pile broke your neck sue your team mates too... geeez we all know there are repercussions for taking out a teams Goalie and Captian OR star players.. infact there are guys in the NHL for that sole reason to hurt you to scare you and to make you PAY... anyways...

I really should be in bed.. I'm exhausted.. I should've been in bed hours ago I was going to go to bed at like 10:30 but this stupid show was on and I started watching it last year "Bull Run" and it actually just showed roughly where I stopped watching it. So I got to see who won! haha funny.. but lame..

Good game for the nucks! Way to start the season, great for the confidence of the team and let's pray the snowball keeps going and they reek havok ALL year right through the playoffs!!

Let me leave you with this picture.. From one of my favorite goals of the night. I don't get why people don't like the Sedin's... Great play way to stick the puck!!
One more thing, I'd like to welcome TimW to the world of Blogging I see you've started one :P Welcome and unfortantely I'll be missing the game tomorrow night :( I have to work until about 3am... Seriously what kind of man plans his wedding on a game day.. Geez some peoples kids... haha
GO CANUCKS GO

Pre Season Game #5 Calgary @ Vancouver

Thursday, October 02, 2008
Sorry there was no post for games 3 and 4 I was out of town and didn't get to watch either of them. Well Saturday's game wasn't televised and Sunday I was driving home. We did catch bits of it on the radio but only very small bits :(
I did however see Game 5!!! It was great, a really good game, nice to see lots of action! Guys constantly putting the puck to the net and making some fantastic passes. Van got the W with a score of 6-1 which does not happen a whole lot against a goalie like Kipper. I was going to give you a recap of the game but I wanted to talk about a the prospects and the "C" and the fact that these are just Exhibition games.

5 and 0 is great don't get me wrong BUT these ARE just exhibition games which means this isn't real hockey yet, it's a time when the young guys and prospects are fighting with all they have to get that last spot or last two or three spots on the team. Will they continue to play like that when they get the spot? I hope so but sometimes they don't. Sometimes they get the spot and get complacent in it. Sure they're playing hard but they're not giving it that 125% like they were in the pre-season. So who is it that doesn't have a spot yet, Jeff Cowan, Ryan Johnson, Mike Brown, Rob Davison, Lukas Kraijicek and Kyle Wellwood. There may be a couple more but those are the guys that were playing in last nights game. I have to admit when having the "bruise brothers" Cownan and Brown on the lineup last night I was half expecting a fight granted Brown tired once but failed miserably and got the penalty on his own putting us into a 5 on 3 situation... Which to me seemed to be juvinial at best.. Wait until your team isn't on a PK or make sure you bait your man properly at least. I only remember hearing Cowan's name once it was on a bit of a break away with a weak shot on net. In my eyes the last two spots are really between Johnson Davison and Wellwood. I really REALLY loved Wellwood's pass over to Demitra showed great paitence and couldn't have been prettier, perfect pass to Demitra who barried it in the back of the net to beat Kipper padding the lead once again to a two goals. Lot's of good effort from the whole team it was a very exciting game to watch right off the bat. Hopefully they can continue that style all year long!!

First time or a goalie to wear a "C" Lou gets the Captain spot.. Very interesting maybe it is time the NHL re-thunk it's policy on goalie's wearing a C Although it is interesting, With Willie Mitchell , Matias Ohlund and Ryan Kesler getting the "A" spot that's pretty cool. Loungo won't be able to dispute calls with the Ref's or participate in ceremonial puck drups but other than that he's the go to guy. Pretty cool I think.. I also think it was a way to get him more comitted to the team and not thinking at all about leaving. Possibly thinking about continuing his career here in Van (which would be AWESOME)

Anyways here's to more exciting hockey!!

Games 6 & 7 of the pre-season won't be televised but you can catch them on Canucks TV on the website! I'll be missing tonights game but will be cheering them on in spirit!

Pre Season Game #2 Oilers @ Canucks

Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Tonight's game was not as good as last nights, due to the fact (possibly) that our line up had more veterans on it and they all seemed to be trying to do something that the other wasn't, communication was down, passes were incomplete and there didn't seem to be a whole lot of shooting on net. A lot of unnecessary penalties 5 on 3 situations that SHOULD have been avoided. But boy am I glad Hockey is back!!

I have to admit I was hoping to see a bit more action out of Pavol Demitra, he did make a couple nice passes but I can only think of one shot? nice and quick little wrist shot that had Rolson beat only to catch a cross bar... Really I was hoping to see a bit more from him. IT was nice however to see Cory Hodgson seemed to skate with confidence like he belonged in the line up we'll see what he has to bring to the table.
Hordichuck is wearing Cooke's old number (24) and it was tough to get used to that, but he did drop a very pretty one for us tonight with an assist from Burrows and Johnson. Grabner sealed the deal in the second on a powerplay goal.

Was nice to see Lou in net making some SPECTACULAR saves and it was also nice that Sanford made an appearence half way through and kept the doors closed all night long played a solid game, also revealed his new paint job on his mask tonight looks sharp!

All in all it was a decent game I guess, nice that we swept a home and home opener agains the Oil hopefully thats a sign of things to come this year.

Last nights game was more exciting could've been because of the long hiatus we had over the summer and the anticipation of watchin our boys play again! Whatever it is was I'm just happy the Hockey season is upon us and can't wait to suck in as much as possible!

Unfortantely for those that join me at my place for the game I'll be in Vancouver watching it at my Mom's place your welcome to come join if you want but it's a long way for a pre-season game. I'll try to update after game #3 of the pre season but may not be able to until I get home. I'll be home on Monday as I work first thing tuesday :P

GO CANUCKS GO!!

Pre Season Game #1 Canucks @ Oilers

Monday, September 22, 2008
Well tonight's game was pretty much what you'd expect for your first game of the season except that there was some great goals and fantastic saves on both ends. Cory Schneider was in net for us tonight he's our JR goalie, I felt like his performance was pretty solid, he's young and has a way's to go to being our number 2 but potential is definitely there. It was tough following the game tonight because all the new face's, numbers and names to pick up. But it was a good game for sure! It was nice to see some of the familiars putting up numbers Jeff Cowan tied up the game in the first with a great goal off of a nice pass from Labrie, then later in the second period D.Sedin made a nice pass to Ohlund to tie up the game. Then late in the third Gendur tied it up after the Oilers took the lead in the second off of Gagnon's beautiful breakaway on Schneider...

A couple of the guys were over and we were thinking it would be nice to see the Canucks win the first game we are watching and although I did agree I said I'd like to see it in the shootout just to see what kinda magic we could make happen there and it was nice to see that there was some, the choices were tough in fact I don't think any of us made picks for who it would be, again new roster hard to know... but Wellwood, Raymond and Krog were the picks. Wellwood started things off with opening the SO scoreboard nice little snap into the back of the net, Raymond tried to make a play but Garon cut the angle coming way out of his net and Raymond was beat. Krog came in after Gagnon barried one. He put it away with pretty little snap that beat Garon hit the cross bar and went into the back of the net.

All in all it was a good performance, it's tough to say what this year's going to be like a lot of and I mean A LOT of new faces..

Few questions would be can they GEL that fast? do they have what it takes? how familiar can you be with 60+% new members on your team... Let's hope the coaching staff can work some magic on a young team.

GO CANUCKS GO!!

It's Official!

The most AMAZING woman!!

Sunday, August 31, 2008

Six wonderful years, and they are only getting better!! I thank God for you every day your the best thing that has ever happened to me and I truly am a better man with you in my life! Your absolutely everything to me. You've given me two incredible children and I couldn't be happier!!

You spoil me rotten when I don't deserve it! I love you with all my heart and am completely blessed to enjoy everyday with you!

A good woman is hard to find,
and worth far more than diamonds.
Her husband trusts her without reserve,
and never has reason to regret it.
Never spiteful, she treats him generously
all her life long.
She shops around for the best yarns and cottons,
and enjoys knitting and sewing.
She's like a trading ship that sails to faraway places
and brings back exotic surprises.
She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast
for her family and organizing her day.
She looks over a field and buys it,
then, with money she's put aside, plants a garden.
First thing in the morning, she dresses for work,
rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started.
She senses the worth of her work,
is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.
She's skilled in the crafts of home and hearth,
diligent in homemaking.
She's quick to assist anyone in need,
reaches out to help the poor.
She doesn't worry about her family when it snows;
their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear.
She makes her own clothing,
and dresses in colorful linens and silks.
Her husband is greatly respected
when he deliberates with the city fathers.
She designs gowns and sells them,
brings the sweaters she knits to the dress shops.
Her clothes are well-made and elegant,
and she always faces tomorrow with a smile.
When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say,
and she always says it kindly.
She keeps an eye on everyone in her household,
and keeps them all busy and productive.
Her children respect and bless her;
her husband joins in with words of praise:
"Many women have done wonderful things,
but you've outclassed them all!"
Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.
The woman to be admired and praised
is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.
Give her everything she deserves!
Festoon her life with praises!

You really are everything to me!

I love you babe!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

I updated... but then I deleted it all sorry

Keep Praying!!

EDIT:
Sorry... I want to update but I'm not ready :P So you'll have to put up with this.

Psalm 3 ESV
O Lord how many are my foes! Mare are rising against me; many are saying of my soul, there is no salvation for him in God. But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessings be on your people!

Psalm 61 1-4 ESV
Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings!

Psalm 62 5-8 ESV
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.

Psalm 16 1&2 NIV
Keep me safe O God, for in you I take refuge. I said to the Lord, you are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing. (The ESV says "Preserve me, O God,")

Tonight we went up Trapper *Ryan, Steph, Kevin, Tom, Christy, Tristan, Olivia and myself* it was great I'm glad we did it. Tom had a great idea for some pictures so I'll make this a mostly picture post! Thanks Tommy for the great pics and great ideas!

Anyways its the craziest coolest thing!! That's why I haven't been posting I've been reading/studying with my spare time.

Going to update soon you'll see!

Here's a couple pics from the dive the crew did out of Rupert.. I TOTALLY wish I was there...

Matthew 6:33&34
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be give to you as well.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Matthew 7:7&8
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

God knows the needs of my family, He knows the desires of my heart... I'm living on faith alone right now literally. My prayer request right now would be that God's hand would be clearly on my situation, that the doors He opens would have flashing neon signs that say "THIS WAY CHRIS" ha-ha. What I really truthfully need is to fine tune my ears to His voice. Most of you know vaguely the situation that my family and I are facing, and I'd really appreciate some prayers right now. I don't want to go into to much details because I serve a big God that can sort them all out anyways! He knows what we need. Jeremiah 29:11-14

My thoughts are so scattered right now its hard to find the right words to type... I feel like I'm all over the place, could be cause I'm tired :P Could be cause I've got a million different things on my mind..

I've had some awesome revelations lately of our "unbroken fellowship" with the Father. Which couldn't come at a better time. Lately I've been really going through the fire, the refiners fire. God has been pruning parts of who I am that He doesn't like and it hurts, but my prayer is that He would continue to do so. I have come to a realization (with God's help of course) that I don't have to be the person I though I had to be, that He does choose the weak things to shame the strong, that Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness because THEY WILL be filled.

I told you my thoughts were scattered ha-ha

I'm super excited for Friday, which to be quite honest is weird... I'm not one for celebrating my birthday, I usually do it to make my wife happy but for some reason this year, I can't wait for the party. I just really want to spend it with the people that are important in my life and fellowship with you guys! I don't care about gifts (really I don't) so don't worry about that just come hang out and have a good time!!

I'm also REALLY excited about this coming Tuesday, I finally finally finally get to go diving, granted I have to do all the beginner stuff but I don't care I'm getting it started its a go and been confirmed I'm heading out Tuesday at 3pm for a couple hours to get the basics and go from there. I can't wait I've been wanting to do this since I was a kid I did an intro thing with my Dad once who was pretty big into diving and that was the last time I did it. It was always something we couldn't afford to do and even now if it wasn't for God's working I wouldn't be doing this, but I'm doing a contra job for the local guy in town and its not going to cost me anything for now!!!

SAWEEEEEET

Anyways I finished a couple books Andrew Murray's - On the Holy Spirit, great book such an easy read and to the point I enjoyed it great for a study tool recommend it for sure. I also read Mick Foley's - Have a nice Day!, wow I blazed through this 700+ page book in 6days and for me thats huge.. I'm a slow reader ask my wife :P I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Anyways I'm bagged so I'm going to bed, I'll update my "What I'm reading in the next couple days when I decide what I'm reading.

Be blessed everyone sorry for the lack of posts lately but I'm sure you've come to expect it from me by now!

Let me leave you with this -

EDIT: OK one thing I really should update about is that Christy and I are now leading our home group Thomas and Michelle are stepping down for some R&R and to be obedient to what God is calling them to, and we were going to shut the group down but I think we were ALL on the same page when we just didn't feel like that was right, so Christy and I prayed about it and felt lead to step up to the plate and lead the home group! Were very excited for what God is doing and going to do in our home group. We love you guys all very much and are excited to see what God has planned!!!

It's good to be home, we missed everyone! That being said sometimes I wonder why we live in Terrace... Don't get me wrong I ABSOLUTELY love it here and its a great place to be ESPECIALLY when the sun is shining ask anyone who's been anywhere and I'm sure they'll agree with me, Terrace is one of the most breath-taking places in the world. It just seems there's no money to be made here, people are caught in a rut of "save your pennies" were not going to have anything tomorrow. Anyways..

The trip was great Tristan and Liv did great, we had a lot of fun and spent to much money, but whats a holiday if you don't right? Our friends were shocked we'd make the trip just to say goodbye but of course we did and would. They've been great friends over the years and will continue to be unless Keith starts to cheer for Calgary :P jk buddy We haven't always gotten to connect with them but they've been there for us when we've needed them and we've definitely consider them some of our good friends, mentors in our lives at times and just a shoulder to lean on or laugh with in others. So as you guys make this transition in your life we'll be praying for you and asking God's blessings on your life's also that he'd provide for you spiritual and practical needs.

So ya now were home and wondering what God has in store for us, work has been a bit slow. I've got some projects I need to get completed and am trying to work on. But its not enough right now so if you could remember us in your prayers that God would continue to provide which were completely trusting Him to do, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also on that note I could use some prayer for my foot, I've done something to it and can barely walk on it "sometimes" if that makes sense, sometimes it doesn't hurt at all other times it's unbearable, so ya please pray its nothing serious and that God would do a healing there. Especially sux since I've started trying to get in shape yet again, the snow is melting the mountains are calling to me and I've actually had a crazy urge to start running again (which I did for the first time today) sort of ha-ha did a walk/run sorta thing with my buddy Tom, he's good to run with cause he pushes me but won't let me push so hard that I hurt myself. Christy and I want to start running together also so that will be good for us, we'll figure something out with the kids and go for a run daily or something.

anyways I'm gonna go veg cause my foot is killing me right now, maybe I'll ice it up or something Thanks for reading appreciate the prayers.

And Keith Andrea if you read this we love you guys and were praying for you!!!

Blessings

Things didn't work out...

Sunday, April 20, 2008
So everything was going fine, they drew up the contract and I was still asking some questions... Then I got an email saying I was over-qualified.. If there really is such a thing..

It's ok though Christy and I started to feel like it wasn't what God wanted for us anyways. They kept beating around the bush with some of the questions that I was asking and wouldn't give us straight answers.

So I'm back on the hunt for work, things are going well with TCSI Tom and I are staying busy, still not busy enough for full commitment but I trust that God is taking care of our needs as we haven't gone in want yet since being laid off.

weird post I know. Just wanted to post something I guess.

Sorry I Suck..

Wednesday, April 09, 2008
I was trying to be more committed to updating my blog but its not going to happen who am I kidding... I'll just continue updating as is and hopefully you guys will put up with it.

So lots has happened as most know I got laid off on March 3rd, I've been working my business with Tom [TCSI Computers] and that's been going great, lots of work keeping really busy. At the same time I've been keeping my ears to the ground as previously mentioned I applied for one and told them I'm not interested unless they pay me $30/hr which is pretty big money. Well I recently heard of another job with a company called Microserve, I told Gwen about it too for her brother's sake but let her know I'd be applying for it also. I sent my resume in on a Thursday afternoon around 12 and before 1pm they emailed me back, and before 5pm same day the manager for BC called me. I wasn't home so my darling wife took a message and asked some questions of her own. I called him back when I got home and we talked for about 30mins. He wanted me on board and everything sounded great. I told him I'd need some time to think about things and I'd probably fire off a couple emails with questions and thoughts or whatever. So I did that and then on Monday after having prayed about it and talked it over with my wife I emailed back and said if the offer still stands I'm interested. I just had a few requests, one being that I wanted everything in writing, that is whatever we agreed upon before the hiring process took place. So today, I was thinking "odd I haven't heard from them yet, maybe they found someone else" (G's Bro has an AMAZING resume so I'd hire him over me too) So I thought I'd give them a call just to see whats up and he was excited to hear from me again and asked if I had received my email yet. Apparently they're taking my "wanting it in writing" seriously and thats grrrrreat. I'm really stoked to be working for this company.

I Get to work from home, pick my own hours (basically) and its a REAL team environment, they're going to fly me and the family down to Victoria so I can familiarize myself with the company AND so we can take part in the company BBQ on the 10th get to meet some people and go from there.

So ya, so far it looks like I've gotten the job, were going to go over some paper work and go from there. I'll be able to work my business when needed and count on a steady income.

Theres my update!

Thanks for all the prayers I really appreciate it!

Bless y'all ;)

LOTR MARATHON!!!

Sunday, March 23, 2008
OK Guys the day is finally upon us! Saturday March 29th at 9am we are starting a journey that most of us have not yet tried to complete with a run time of 654 minutes thats just shy of 11 hours. We are going to watch
ALL THREE EXTENDED SPECIAL EDITIONS OF;

Heres the scoop, were not sure yet what everyone wants to do so were suggesting a door charge of 10$ Reason being, Pizza, pop and munchies... I don't mind picking everything up prior to the event however I REALLY don't want to get stiffed with a huge munchies bill. We'll pre-order the pizza to arrive at a specified time as to not interrupt the movie's. We'll take a 5 minute break between discs for bathroom breaks and a quick stretch. At the end of each movie we'll take a 15-20 minute break again to stretch or grab some munchies. This is the best part, we've got a FULL 6.1 surround sound system, with a projector and BIG SCREEN setup to watch the movie with. Which if you're one of the unfortunate people that had to watch in our Theater here in Terrace you know that our showing is going to be 10x better.

Were going to be doing this at our church in the Library/Prayer room, we'll have some couches and chairs for comfort sake, or you can stretch out on a foamy (if you bring it) and enjoy the movie's like that.

If any one has any suggestions on the munchie/food situation then please leave a comment. Let me know, we won't be providing breakfast but maybe we can think of something for Lunch? But my thoughts are Lunch and Dinner?? not sure what to do? we could get some Subway but again thats going to bring costs up... So please comment and let me know if your interested.

This is open to everyone, but please let me know so I have an idea of who's coming for the munchies, pop and pizza (if that's the route we go)

Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

One Ring to rule them all,
One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

So please leave a comment if you are coming, or if you have any ideas on what we could do for food or munchies.

Thanks and see you there!!!

Possibility of a new Job...

Wednesday, March 19, 2008
I've been in contact with a company. Actually I was in contact with this company several months ago talking about the possibility of a service contract with them. However there was a local company in town that already had its foot in on that service. Knowing the unnamed company I knew it wouldn't be long for Alcan and this other company to be unsatisfied and get upset with the unnamed company. After being laid of on the 3rd of March I started keeping my ear to the ground for opportunities should they arise, well it seems I was right both companies are fed up with the level of service being provided by the unnamed company and is now looking for a full-time employee, so I've forwarded my resume and spoken with the guy doing the hiring on the phone. I told him that I wouldn't do it for anything less then a minimum of $30/hour. So I'm playing the waiting game with them now, I've sent in my resume and am just waiting to hear back... But truth be told I don't know if I really want to go back it means being back at Alcan.

There are other things that I would like to see included in the offer, such as pager pay a friend of mine works at Alcan and said he gets about $1000 extra a month for having the pager, also a gas card (would settle for a decent mileage rate) 3-4weeks paid holiday and of course benefits. I just really need to pray about this whole thing I don't want to take the job just because the pay sounds good. Another thing that is a MUST is to get EVERYTHING in writing. I've been screwed over to many times at Alcan. Different companies each time but not anymore..

So my prayer request is this; that God would reveal his will to me and my family. My heart is to be in business for myself and not working for "the man " but I don't want to be foolish if this is what God wants me to do. So ya, I would appreciate your prayers and thanks in advance.

Long Time No Update..

Friday, March 14, 2008
Tonnes going on LOTS to update about but I just haven't been doing it... I'm sorry I've been busy, and not motivated to update.

I don't even think I have the energy to update right now but it seems I am anyways. Where to start... Monday March 3rd 2008 I wake up and get ready for work just like any other day, jump in with Sheldon and head off to Kitimat. Arrive, put my lunch in the fridge bring the lunch my wife made for Marilyn to her, and she says "We have a meeting right away off plant" I'm like sure haven't even had a chance to power up my computer so lets do it. Get there, go in alone and she leaves. I knew something was up when she didn't come in and when she said "off plant" Anyways I ended up getting Laid off... BUT the word the guy used was TERMINATED lol. With severance pay and what not so ya laid off. I'm not worried about it though for some reason, I hated the job and had been looking for new work anyways so it wasn't a big deal. Had I gotten laid off without severance, that might have been a HUGE issue but God knows what we need and has blessed us with it.

Christy and I have been talking and praying and trying to decide what to do, most of you know I'm in business with Tom we are TCSI Computers. Shameless plug to follow, you can check out our web site at www.tcsicomputers.ca So for the moment we've decided to try and make a serious effort of that. I've actually be UBER busy too, couple calls from clients, couple web sites that needed to be built, stuff like that. But its not enough, need more so please pray for us that the business would just take off like crazy. We've just sent out 7000 flyers and are about to do another 500 and were looking into Radio adverts.

At the same token I'm looking for work, maybe not full time but if its right I'll do full time as well . I don't want to pass up an opportunity, were open to WHATEVER God may be calling us to even if that means moving. We don't care, we just want to be obedient to what God is calling us to.

Anyways I think thats enough for now, I'll try to stay more up-to-date with blogging but no promises.

Please keep up in your prayers that God would continue to provide.

Thanks guys!

God is GREAT!

Tuesday, February 12, 2008
We had small group tonight and Thomas asked me to share, which doesn't normally happen. Usually I'll just tell him I want to share and we go from there. But he was worried that he would be out of town so asked me to fill in. Of course I had no problem, the only problem I had was trying to decide what to share. I've been spending time in the word and reading Phillip Yancey's book "What's so Amazing about Grace" Things have been going great, I've really been making an effort to spend more time with God, I've been so tired lately but I'm really trying not to use that as an excuse for when I'm not. Anyways I had a few things in mind to share in home group but for some reason I couldn't wrap my mind around those things, I just felt lead to share something else. It was a modern day approach on the Prodigal son story. I'm to tired to type it out right now but it was really really good. Its funny because I often doubt myself when it comes to what God is speaking. I don't know where this insecurity comes from its not something I'm entirely used to dealing with, but for some reason I've been doubting that its actually God speaking to me I really don't know why but I'll get scriptures or a word to share and I'll read them and ponder over them and then I won't share them but the next person to share or pray, shares that exact verse or thought that I was thinking... It's like I'm afraid my prayers aren't going to be good enough that they won't measure up or something or the word I share won't?
Truth be told when I was younger I struggled with this all the time. I'm not so sure as to why I am now though?? It's odd.. I'm normally the person that doesn't care what people think, I'll do things the way I want to do them or whatever cause I really don't care what people think of me. I like to have fun and goof around and be me, but for some reason lately when it comes to "God stuff" I find myself feeling insecure or shy about it? If thats even right.

I have goals and dreams, I love to share the word with people, I'd love to be a pastor and one day I'd love to lead worship, but I am not confident enough to sing by myself. I know I can sing, I do have areas I need to work on but who doesn't. Anyways I'm not even sure why I'm writing this stuff down.. I guess I just need to get it off my chest. I don't want to doubt and be insecure about sharing the word or whatever God gives me to share I want to step out and be bold.

Anyways I'm going to bed cause I'm UBER tired.

Hell's Best Kept Secret

Monday, January 14, 2008
Galatians 3:24-25 says,`So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law`
As believers we have been justified by faith. But those who do not know Jesus must understand that `the law was put in charge` to lead them to Christ. Without this understanding they can never come to a true saving faith in Christ. If unsaved people don`t hear the law of God or understand its precepts, they come to Christ without the law and for the wrong reasons. They might have made a decision in order to get a better life, but they have not come in reality to Christ, they've just made a decision, had a false conversion. The bible says only the law can bring them to Christ.
1 Timothy 1:8 says `We know that the law is good if one uses it properly` We do not live under the law as Christians because we are released from it. The purpose of the law is to alert unbelievers to the wrath and judgment of God that is to come.

WE MUST COME UNDER THE LAW TO BE SET FREE FROM IT!!!
When people don`t understand the law and the judgment to come we can`t talk to them about the need to be saved. They`ll say `Saved? saved from what?' Once they see they're going to be judged by the righteous standards of the law, they they want to flee to grace. They want to be saved from judgment. This is the best-kept secret in hell because most of the church does not use the law for conversion.
Romans 7:7 says, ' What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law.' The bible says clearly with the Ten Commandments nobody will know what sin is. The is how the law leads people to Christ. The makes people aware of their sin and how they have fallen short of God's standards. Most unsaved people would say they don't believe in the Ten Commandments. They think it is old fashioned morality that is irrelevant in our sophisticated, modern, secular, humanistic society. It's our job to help them see that they do in fact believe in the Ten Commandments

Unsaved people are under the law--They just don't know it!
If we were to ask them what they think should happen to someone who was a serial killer and rapist they would at the very least say "Lock him up in jail." We can then tell them they do believe in the Ten Commandments. The sixth commandment is "You shall not murder" Their inner conviction is that murder is wrong and deserves to be punished. Any law, without consequence if you break it, is not a law but just 'good advice'

The Ten Commandments
The law has to be put in charge again to lead people to Christ. We need to help people understand the Ten Commandments step by step so they can have a genuine conversion. Were not just giving them good advice, but showing them that they are under God's law and there are consequences for breaking this law.

The first commandment is ' You shall have no other gods before me' We can ask, "Have you loved God with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength your whole life, since birth put him first at all times?" God wants nothing to come between us and him...

The second commandment is ' You shall not make for yourself an idol' God does not want us to make idols with our hands or our minds. All the graven images we have made in our minds, all the things we have done in secret will be brought out into the open on the day of judgment...

The third commandment is 'You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God' Many unsaved people use the name of Lord as a filthy swear word. Just using it once is enough to break it...

The fourth commandment is 'Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy' The bible is clear in Romans 14 that the church does not have to keep the Jewish Sabbath, but is free to choose any day for the Sabbath, a day to reflect on the goodness of God and all that we have.

The fifth commandment is 'Honor your father and your mother' This means to value them even if they're not the best father or mother. Many people dishonor their parents in both word and deed, through hurt, resentment or rebellion.

The sixth commandment is 'You shall not murder' Most people you witness to will excuse themselves from this one, but Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 5:21,22 that anyone who is angry with his brother receives the same judgment as one who murders.

The seventh commandment is 'You shall not commit adultery' This refers to sex outside of marriage in any form with any partner. The bible clearly states that the only place for sex is within marriage between a man and a woman. Matthew 5:28 says, "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart" Jesus is saying that just looking makes a person guilty.

The eighth commandment is 'You shall not steal' What makes a person a thief? Is it the value of the thing that you steal or the act of stealing itself? You are a thief because you steal...

The ninth commandment is 'You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor' This means you can no lies, exaggerations or fibs. There's no such thing as a white lie because there's not white murder, white adultery or white stealing. Everyone will admit to having lied at one point or another...

The tenth commandment is 'You shall not covet' The bible elaborates on how this refers to coveting any of another person's possessions and includes jealousy, envy, lust, greed and materialism...

IT ONLY TAKES ONCE
After we have gone through the Ten Commandments with the unsaved person, we then need to help them see how they've personally fall short. James 2:10 says, "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it" We need to tell them, 'Now this is the God's going to judge you on the day of judgment. If you break one law your guilty and will be judged" They must be conscious of the fact that they are wrong before they can see that their only hope is what Jesus did on the cross for them. You have to know you are a sinner before you value the cross... If measured by man's standards and not by the standards of God's law. They will not see the need to be forgiven. That is why they must measure by God's law. When someone has been led to Jesus through the law, grace suddenly has major significance in their lives. After examining themselves in the light of each of the Ten Commandments, and realizing that breaking only one of them makes them a prime candidate for judgment and punishment, grace seems very appealing. The grace of God takes on major importance because they have felt the weight of the law. Grace releases them from the burden of having to keep the law.

-Rob Rufus "Living in the Grace of God"

I just had to write that out because of the revealation that God brought to me through it. Through the study of Grace, through His word he constantly challenges me. Thank you God for your Grace, for your love and your understanding.

Romans 5:8 says "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners , Christ died for us."

To Quit or Not To Quit...

Friday, January 11, 2008
I'm literally at the end of my rope, I've tried everything but I just can't work here anymore... The one thing that keeps my sanity is working with a good friend of mine. It's just to much now I can't handle the stress of the... the... stupidity the complete lack of professionalism, the crap that gets handed down the line. Of everyone here other then my buddy and one other guy (maybe, but he doesn't do what we do) I'm by far the most qualified, with actual school under my belt. Legit experience in what I do. Real people skills. (one of the deciding factors for our wage, that apparently doesn't apply to me)

ARGHHH I can't even type this without getting SO MAD I want to phone my boss and forget who I am and tell him everything I know I don't want to tell him or her or who the heck ever my boss is. I want to quit right now, right this very second... Come to grips Chris you have a family to feed and take care of... A family to feed and take care of.... A family to feed and take care of...

Ok here's my plee seriously, if anyone, ANYONE knows of a decent job that I can apply for seriously tell me right away, I don't care what it is I just need to make minimum 2G a month (take home) and I'm outta here.. I'll drive a cab, whatever I don't care... I just can't take this anymore, I really really really REALLY can't ...

God give me your grace and understanding to know why you have me here, but PLEASE PLEASE open the doors for me to find something else. Cause I can't do this anymore.

Can't

Happy 2008

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE ~ We love you all and pray for God's blessing on all of you in this new year!
