Well finally the pics are here. We've been truly blessed to have a place we can actually call our own. Something we don't have to pay rent to someone and get nothing out of it. Thanks for the incredible opportunity to "The Outlaws" we have what we can call our first home. Basically we got it for a steal =P All we are doing is taking over the payments. So true technically the bank owns our house but not unlike most of us right =P So here they are, sorry they're not all up yet and keep in mind I took these pictures pretty much right away we were/are still unpacking.
So we'll start them off with a view from outside, this is our new place. It was built in 1992 and it has 2 bedrooms, + an addition added later on which we've converted into a bedroom with a gas fireplace. Amazingly enough we fit quite comfortably in it!.
Here's the fence we put up last summer, truth is my Brother inlaw did about 90% of it he's a jack-of-all trades really. He did a beautiful job on it. Dad broke the gate though =P All I did was plain and stain really. It goes around the whole back yard. Very nicely done! I'll get some pics of the backyard later. The Shed you see in the backyard is great our freezer is in there and all my "handful" of tools kind of sad really I need to start expanding my tool collection. I'm going to be staining the shed to match the fence in the spring/summer. I'm also considering putting a bigger deck in the backyard with an awning or something. We'll see.
Now for the inside! I'm not going to be posting a pic of all the rooms yet, cause "The Outlaws" are staying with us while we renovate their new home which is great! And my room isn't finished yet, were going to frame in a bedroom door. Maybe..
So this is the entrance way, I have to admit I wasn't to sure about the colors before/during our move in but now that were getting settled into the house they are growing on me. We are going to be getting a nice closet or cupboard for the entry way to put coats/boots in. FYI the camera isn't doing the color any justice... It’s much more vibrant and lively then it is in the photo.
From the entry way we come into the hallway/kitchen. Its a great size for us considering what we've come from. Its nice to have a real stove, although I'd prefer gas this is great and a real fridge. Lots of storage space. In fact there was to much. Mom and Dad had Craig (brother in-law) remove some cupboards prior to us moving in. They're in my office and I've made good use of them! But it’s very nice, opened up the kitchen very well. I know my wife loves this addition to A DISHWASHER!!! Now I don't mind so much helping with dishes. I haven't yet but I wouldn't mind... haha
Next to the right is the dining room nice sized can easily fit 6 adults and 3 kids in there as we've done many times when Mom and Dad lived there. Christy finally convinced Mom to give her the table so we gave ours to Adam and Sonja. I don't know who was more excited! :P On the opposite wall there’s a built in china cabinet which is great to more storage. It’s nice, the only thing I want to change about it is the glass inserts. They're from the 90's and it’s obvious. Check the pic.
Up next the living room!! I was uber stoked about this. When we got the TV a few years ago, the wall mount unit was $599 for the basic version, way to expensive.
Well we decided to go check the prices out for the new place as we thought space was going to be an issue. Turns out we bought one of the better ones you can get it pivots up and down and is easy to setup was under $200 Yay for great deals!! Next big buy is going to be a proper entertainment unit. Wireless speakers that wall mount baby and a subwoofer big enough to shake the walls apart.
We also got new furniture!! Another steal from "The Outlaws" Thanks so much for everything you guys do for us!!
That’s a better pic of the TV mounted to the wall. For those of you that didn't know we won that TV about 3yrs ago. I purchased $10 raffle ticket and won a $12000 42" Plasma TV with the control box. Huge blessing!
This next room was the biggest stress for me. Most of you have seen my office. We had a 2 story house and my office was litterally crammed in the basement. Or so it seemed.
I was blown away by the fact that I got all... well most of my office into this room seeing as it’s the smallest room in the house. I did get rid of some stuff that I was just sitting on because I'm a pack rat. But I kept allot of it. It’s cozy I'm not squished in there and I've got lots of room to work its great!
Well that’s all for now, I'll get some picks of the bedrooms and bathroom when we've settled in the new place and after I've gotten Christy to do a "perimeter sweep" haha inside joke.
Anyways I'll get the rest of the pics up soon. Thanks for checking out the blog :P
